Work Experience..
Hey i’m Ciara, Dan’s cousin, I’m in 4th year at Lagan College and i’m over with Long Line Surf School for my work experience from Monday 18th until Friday 22nd. Over the past few days I have been trying to help Dan set up his pub quiz and raffle to help raise money for the blind dog association. We have been asking around for people to igve us things for free or at discount for the raffle and some very generous people helped us out and agreed.
Yesterday there was a group in of 19 primary 7 pupils from Central Primary School. It was my first time taking part in a lesson as an instructor and it was great fun. We had some very funny and very talented kids taking part. It was all fun and games.
Then everyone left after having a really good time and it was up to me Dan and the other lifeguard Stephen to clean up. We were driving back home when Dan’s car broke down at the round about! He had to push it off the road while Steered, it was my first time behind the wheel! when we finally got home we got ready to go out SUPing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding. We did a 2 hour course and the scenery was beautiful, it was so peaceful. The only sound was birds chirping and and the splash of fish as they jumped up out of the water. It was amazing.
This morning I created a girls only Long Line Surf School package and after this will start to organize a hen and stag party package.
What i’m doing here doesn’t really feel like a ‘work’ experience, more like a life experience, or a week of fun type of experience. Once i’m done here on Friday i’m 100% sure ill be visiting again over the summer.
